That’s the advice given by Matea and Peter Testa after they completed a three-month total home renovation.
No mere facelift, the house was given a new way of functioning: new plumbing, wiring, all new flooring, laundry room moved from front to back replacing a hot tub room, removal of a back stairwell and elevator, swapping master and children’s bedrooms as well as his-and-hers closets and ensuite upstairs. “In terms of workload, it was heavy,” Peter said.
How did they maintain their sanity, and partnership, with the mess, the work, the decisions while balancing jobs and two young children?
